the charente enjoys the advantage of a sunny semi mediterranean climate with around 2400 sunshine hours each year with summer days generally in the mid to high 80's.
it is also is a magnet for all that france produces. home to cognac making, the local markets offer an abundance of fresh fish and seafood from the atlantic coast. wines on the doorstep from the regions of bordeaux and the loire. prime beef from the limousin. truffles and foie gras from the perigord. and to complement it all, seasonal fruit and vegetables from the organic farm just next door.
